How to apply for Brand approval if you are a new seller

How to Apply for Brand Approval if You’re a New Amazon Seller

Getting approved to sell a restricted brand on Amazon can be confusing when you’re a new seller. The good news is that the process is fairly straightforward if you have the right documents.

1. Find the Brand You Want to Sell

Search for the product in Amazon Seller Central and check whether the listing requires approval. Click “Apply to Sell” if the option is available.

2. Get a Valid Supplier Invoice

Amazon usually asks for a recent invoice from a legitimate supplier. Make sure the invoice includes:

  • Your business name and address
  • Supplier information
  • Product/brand name
  • Invoice date
  • Quantity purchased

Avoid edited or questionable invoices. Amazon may verify the supplier.

3. Submit Your Application

Go to Seller Central → Catalog → Add Products, find the product, and select “Apply to Sell.” Upload the requested documents and submit the application.

4. Wait for Amazon’s Decision

Amazon may approve the application immediately, request additional information, or reject it. If rejected, review the reason before submitting another application.

Pro Tip

Brand approval is less about having a new seller account and more about proving that your products come from a legitimate supply chain. A proper supplier relationship and clean documentation can make the process much easier.

If you’re struggling with brand approvals or ungating, getting the right supplier documentation before applying can save you a lot of time.
